Thanks to Rob Gorrie at Advertise Here for a recap of the Brand Activation Summit put on by the Strategy Institute last week. As I mentioned in my overview post of the event, Rob brought up the low presence (at least ostensibly) of brand folks at the *ahem* branding event. He was a bit more practical in his reaction though, reasoning “most people on the demand side of the business just didn’t want to get rushed by 100 hungry networks at once.” Ah, decent point.

Loca’s CEO, Stephen Randall presented at the event, and a general run-through of his presentation can be found on SlideShare. Check it and pass it…

I’ve been email buddies with Paul Notzold of Txtual Healing for a few years now, and always look forward to updates on his frequent travels and kicky txtual encounters (I said kicky, folks, kicky).

His newest endeavor is all kinds of interactive sweetness. Think poetry slam meets rap battle meets text-to-screen meets complete audience engagement (okay, that gave me a weird image of Rabbit in 8 Mile wearing a hemp skirt and wielding a fuschia Sidekick in each hand… but you get the idea).

Check out an example of participatory media at its finest… Bravo, Paul! Can’t wait to see whatcha got next!

While a few of our business folks headed to the AMOA show down in Vegas, CEO Stephen Randall gave a talk at the Brand Activation Summit in NYC yesterday. Sponsored by the Strategy Institute, the day focused on digital out-of-home media, a perfect stage for Stephen to do his thang.

One strange thing… When Stephen asked the audience how many people were representing brands/agencies, ONE person out of 150+ raised his hand! The rest were network folks. Remember… this is at the BRAND Activation Summit. Are we still all talking to ourselves here?

For those interested, check out the slideshow of the presentation (even though SlideShare doesn’t support animation…grrrrr).

And if you’re interested in hearing more where that came from, follow Stephen on twitter!
